Probashbangla24 online Desk : Earl Robert Miller is going to be the next US ambassador to Bangladesh as the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations has approved his nomination.
The US Embassy in Dhaka disclosed the matter through a Facebook post published on its official page.
Earlier in July, US President Donald Trump had nominated Miller to be the next Ambassador of the United States to Bangladesh.
Miller is currently serving as the Ambassador to Botswana since December 18, 2014.
The current US Ambassador in Dhaka Marcia Bernicat has been serving to Bangladesh since February 4, 2015.
A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, Miller has served as an American diplomat since 1987. Prior to his role as Chief of Mission (COM) in Botswana, he served as Consul General in Johannesburg, South Africa (2011 – 2014), and Regional Security Officer (RSO) at our embassies in New Delhi, India (2008-2011), Baghdad, Iraq (2007-2008), and Jakarta, Indonesia, (2004 – 2007), according to the website of US Department of State.
